AddressChemin du Midi des Fossés
Situated just under a limestone cliff at the top of the village of Castelnau-Barbarens, overlooking the countryside, the house is a short step from the 13th century tower and chapel, and the Show more descriptionmedieval 'embans' and 'pousterles', which add interest to an evening stroll. Built on the site of an old quarry, using natural and renewable materials, the house has already taken on the colours and textures of its surroundings. Backing onto a limestone cliff it looks out to the Pyrenees over a peaceful Gascony valley.
We have only one guest room, so it would only suit a couple or single person. It has a double bed (140cm), and an adjacent room with a shower, handbasin and WC. The accommodation is separated from the main house by a covered terrace where breakfast can be taken in fine weather. It would make a good stop-over point on a cycling tour or exploration of this lovely area. There is no television,( but there is Wifi access) so it would suit anyone looking for peace and calm!
There is a restaurant in Castelnau-Barbarens itself, (Le Bistrot de la Tuilerie) and of course, the departmental capital, AUCH, 15km away, offers a wider choice. We can prepare a simple evening meal if required, but let us know in advance.
